Blind leading the Blind!
This year the FSA is increasing the maximum bonus staff can get up to 15% of salary, that’s worth a cool £23m apparently. On top of this they are topping up “out of kilter” salaries by another £10m or so to get them to a competitive level. How can the Government insist that bank employees who have failed don’t get a bonus and in the same breath pay over £30m in bonuses to their own failed employees?
To be perfectly frank, it will always be the case that some financial companies will push the rules to the limit in pursuit of a fast buck. It’s the regulator’s job to ensure that they don’t go too far and make the financial markets unstable. Having completely and utterly failed in this task, they don’t deserve a pay rise any more than the bankers do.
Sigh........and they call me a banker!

Banks paying Bonuses
The banks that have been rescued from collapse are going to pay bonuses ..*WHAT*.. Any other private company that lost that amount of money would be dead these banks are only still here because the Government bailed them out (think you and me paying the debt till we die). Do these bankers live in the real world? Can they not see what devastation they have created across the planet with millions of people becoming unemployed? Where's the newly unemployed bonuses, what screw ups did they make to deserve the difficulties they now have. The bankers short term greed and selfish money grabbing without looking at the long term effects of their actions for everybody else should not go rewarded.
I so far have not been badly effected but I did not get a bonus this year no pay rise is coming my wages have been slightly cut and some benefits have gone but I still have a job..thank goodness..but then I live in the real world and I am just glad and lucky I am still working so I can still pay the never ending bills that just seem to keep going up!.

Snow & Global Warming
I hope everybody had fun in the snow I have not seen it like this since I was a kid..so whats that about global warming?I think people need to read this book then maybe they wont just believe the bull put out by the greens and the Government and see that maybe there is another angle to the global story
by James Lovelock,J. E. Lovelock,Crispin Tickell
The key insight of Gaia Theory is that the entire Earth functions as a single living superorganism, regulating its internal environment much as an animal regulates its body temperature. But according to James Lovelock, the theory's originator, that organism is now sick. It is running a fever born of increased atmospheric greenhouse gases. Earth will adjust to these stresses, but the human race faces a severe test. It is already too late, Lovelock says, to prevent the global climate from "flipping" into an entirely new equilibrium that will threaten civilization as we know it. But we can do much to save humanity. In the tradition of Silent Spring, this is a call to action

Less Depressing News
Ok I admit it when I get up in the morning I watch tv before going to work, this accompanies my first cup of tea and the first cigarette, plus a few other firsts of the morning. But I do watch the news and weather as I like to keep up to date with whats going on as its useful to know for work.
My problem is the BBC news is sooooo depressing its all doom and gloom credit crunch no money etc etc and does not set me up for the day in the way I would like.
I wont watch GMTV as to me its like watching the Sun newspaper in other words mindless drivel.
So anybody got any ideas? I would like a bit of news but not just the depressing stuff and if it can make me smile even better
. I dont have Sky ( anymore but thats another story ) so normal tv, freeview or freesat only.

Bailing out the Banks
Hows this for an idea, instead of the Government giving the banks yet more money and the fat cats get fatter, they all should have had their P45's anyway in my view, why not just pay off all the credit debt (not mortgages) of the working tax paying members of the community so they have no credit debt. The banks would then have their money the tax payer would have more money in their pocket and would start spending again and everybody would be happy. Its gotta be better than the 2.5% cut in vat which is not worth a light to most people as its only pennies.
The Govenment has already bailed out the banks to the tune of 400 billion and they are still in trouble?? Yet to bail out Joe tax payer would cost 240 billion this looks like a better deal to me.......
